  Seeking advise on going to college/university

  here is the current situation of an acquaintance of mine.. age early 40s.

  currently lost her good paying job.. managed to find another reasonably quickly.

  although be it with not good money but with the possibility of been able to take an adult apprenticeship which would increase her pay over time.. she is also looking into going to university in the new year.. here is the question i have bearing in mind the above scenario.

  There are many things to consider. I don't have all the facts but I'd say at her age going to college is going to set her back financially in more than one way and the time to recover that will be pushing her in her 50's.

  I didn't go to college because I got connected through networking and was forced to grow up early when my parents kicked me out. All things considering I'm doing quite well. It's the cost of living in NYC that is holding me back from saving. But my advice to her would be to consider her current position and if there is room to move up then she should stay. Hope this helps eventhough I ain't much to go on.

  Listen guys as much as I want to see the JW.borg go down in flames I'd much rather see these Muslims convert to the JW.borg than remain Muslims. I know its going from one cult to another but atleast JWs don't go around chopping heads off or promote Sharia or promote violence against the gay community. These people need to have some stability in their life. It is the lesser of two evils.

  so today i did it.

  i cut my dish network programming to basic....$20 a month ty very much.

  instead i have $60 streaming device that gives me everything i need.

  Oh I cut the cable strings long ago. I used to pay $120+ per month for the triple package from Verizon Fios. Now I have just high speed internet from Verizon for $44.99 which I share with 3 other neighbors next to me on my floor so I pay just $14 for internet and Netflix for $8 and Magic Jack phone for $2.70. My bill has been reduced by $95 per month which is $1200.00 per year. I know it doesn't sound like a lot but after just 5 years that's an extra $6000.00 in my pocket. I don't know about you guys but an extra $6000 in 5 years is not bad. And my cell phone has been reduced from $100 per month unlimited to just $39 with prepaid. Again, saving $60 per month is $720 per year.

  i was present for the first bethel talk introducing the iron boot back into the field.

  i saw many 20-30 year people get reassigned to special pioneering.

  this year, most of them got the boot again and were encouraged to regular pioneer (back to back boots):) this week i received a called from some bethelites and guess where they are all being reassigned to.

  Well with the potential sale of the Brooklyn buildings at $1 billion bucks they suddenly have the money to pay them. Money makes money. More special pioneers = more income.

  Thank you. What do you see happening on the inside now? I have been away and disconnected for about 6 months but I am hearing from a close friend that many diehard JWs are closing their ears to the child abuse scandals. They know about it but don't want to accept it. Is this what you are hearing?

  and it seems to me there's ever mounting evidence that the opposite may well be true.

  but it's not just that recruitment is down and their defectors are up.
